Food Facts Friends food bank and drop in centre is here to help anyone who is facing hunger because of crisis, be that parents skipping meals to feed their children, using any money to pay the rent, for anyone forced with the choice ‘heat or eat’. They are an independent food bank and drop in centre, supported by local businesses and individuals, working to prevent poverty and hunger across Midlothian.

We support them by providing hot soup three days a week, as well as donating excess stock.

Communities, Lifelong Learning and Employability Midlothian are a team dedicated to helping adults with their learning and employability. We work with them to provide training opportunities in our shop and cafe, and a space for them to run discussion groups and classes.

Penicuik Community Development Trust uses the skills, energy and enthusiasm of local volunteers to make Penicuik a better place for all, young and old, for business to flourish, and visitors to enjoy.

We hope that you can join us! Activities run by the volunteers include: the papermaking museum at the Pen-y-Coe Press; the Saturday morning Open House get together and Sunday evening Cinema, both in the Town Hall; the community gardening group; a new Penicuik Library of Things; and Re-cycles Penicuik to help get you out on your bike.

Also, as a registered charity, we have been pleased to act as a channel for public sector and lottery funding targeted at local groups.
