The Penicuik Storehouse is a Community Benefit Society. Over 900 people have supported The Storehouse by becoming a member and buying one or more shares, totaling over £125,000. Community benefit societies are run on a democratic one-member-one-vote basis – so all members get a say at the AGM as to how the Storehouse can best serve you and the rest of the community. See our rules here.

Thanks to an award from the Scottish Land Fund and the most recent share issue Penicuik Community Alliance has been able to buy the old Scotmid building in the High Street and are now proceeding with the plans to open the ground floor as soon as possible.

It is still possible to support The Storehouse by buying shares. See the most recent share issue document here.

  • The easiest way to buy shares is to drop into The Storehouse, pick up an application form and pay by cash or cheque. Alternatively you can download an application form online here which you can take into the shop or you can fill it in and sign it, scan it and e-mail it to us at

Payments can be made directly to our account by BACS (details on the application form).

If you would rather just give us a donation than buy shares you can find details here.
